Which phones support eSIM?

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM, but not all of them, and sometimes it depends on the country where the phone was bought. Check before you buy: it takes 30 seconds.

Check your phone in 30 seconds

  1. Open the phone app and dial *#06#. If you see a number labelled EID, your phone supports eSIM.
  2. iPhone: Settings → General → About. If you see "Digital SIM" or "EID", it supports eSIM.
  3. Android: Settings → Connections (or Network) → SIM manager. If you see "Add eSIM", it supports eSIM.

Your phone must be unlocked

Phones locked to a mobile operator usually refuse an eSIM from another provider. If you bought the phone on a contract, ask your operator whether it is unlocked.
